Who is going to change the world in 2019?

“Love yourself, don’t try too hard to please others, be your authentic self, deliver your unique vision and be kind with no reason.” Dr Marina Nani

The World Happiness Report leaves out what really matters to you and me: trust, mental health and the environment.

For an entire year, Sovereign Magazine has been focused on bringing you the good news. Turning the tide in the fight against bad news and poverty, we work with Purposeful Leaders who are tirelessly bringing prosperity to their local communities. Is it possible to diagnose and close the achievement gap globally? In this first issue of our second year, there is an untold story on self leadership in every page. The human story on prosperity that didn’t make it into the tabloids or premium broadcasts is here to teach you what you don’t know about yourself. We celebrate each Sovereign who shares their story with us and offers their unique solution to prosperity with the world.

While all around you the traumatic waves of bad news are piling up into a brick wall, blocking your unbiased perception, our readers have access to real life success stories and their protagonists and start asking themselves: can I contribute to the progress happening all around me and put my name on it?

The New Year’s Honours list 2019 recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom and while we briefly mentioned them, we are in the lookout for the next big thing, for your untold story and to create together the first global Solutionary Directory in 2019.

Stories of human progress, closing the gender gap, massive innovations for global health, World Happiness milestones, mental health, relationships with yourself and others, building business trust and embracing your truth.

Being a woman in business isn’t easier now than in 2018 and I can’t see any signs that 2019 is going to be plain sailing or painless. We invited Giselle Rufer, the only Swiss female Watchmaker, Ivana, the designer who redefines women’s power, Monique, who turns cold leads into hot leads, Wilma, one of the titans of titanium garden tools, and Jeanet who believes in Freedom Entrepreneurs.

Each story is a door you can open and each business woman sharing their story is inspiring us to see beyond what we know about women’s role in society . Throughout the whole magazine, we are celebrating love this month, but a different kind of love: the love for who you are and who you could become. Sovereign captures the magic to each story while reveling new solutions designed to close the achievement gap.

Running three magazines myself, I understand everything that each one of the business women who share their success story had endured, loved, sacrificed, struggled, learned, attracted, lost and found to be where they are now. I hope you will empathise with the commitment that comes with their vision, the pressure to exceed expectations, the draining process of achieving success, while maintaining an all-consuming image and smile. What can you learn? Love yourself, don’t try too hard to please others, be your authentic self, deliver your unique vision and be kind with no reason.

I am a great believer that only women can change the world, make it better for our children. I think women are more aware now than three decades ago, as we shift the focus from the Gross National Product to the Gross National Happiness. Happiness is the first holistic step you take inwards towards personal success to contribute to the GNH.
